FSU is the only FBS team in the state of Florida to win a football game this week.
UF loses to Vanderbilt, 24 - 31. Miami loses to Clemson, 10 - 40. UCF loses to Navy, 14 - 17. USF loses to Tulsa, 42 - 48. FAU loses to Middle Tennessee, 21 - 49. FIU loses to UTEP, 6 - 40. That means that with FSU's dominant win over Louisiana (49 - 17) the Seminoles are the only FBS team in the state to not embarrass themselves this week.

SFA's football coach mentioned on 365 Sports Radio back on 11/23 that the WAC and ASUN may soon join together to try and jump up to FBS as a football conference en-masse.
Not sure if this has been posted anywhere (or if "News" is the proper flair), but I recently came across a message board discussion of this interview segment from 365 Sports, as part of a show they streamed on YouTube right before Thanksgiving. Thought it might have interesting implications for FCS and FBS movement: The clip features SFA football coach Colby Carthel talking about SFA's sports future. At around the 3:15 mark in the video, Carthel mentions the ongoing challenges of SFA competing against "Battle of Piney Woods" rival SHSU with more limited resources , and that both universities haven't really been comparable on a facilities/resources level for the past 10-15 years, saying they "aren't swinging the same sized stick" as the Bearkats anymore. Carthel then teased the news about the university joining one of Texas's university systems to be announced soon, and that would be a huge buoy to SFA's program strength. ( 4:35 mark in video - SFA announced it was joining the University of Texas System about a week after this show aired). After that, Carthal also mentioned about a possible plan in the works for the WAC and ASUN football schools to all merge/create a single football conference and collectively make the jump up to FBS in the near future and "maybe sooner rather than later" - to be announced within the next few weeks. (at around 5:15). This was also apparently the long term plan of all the Texas schools when they joined the WAC, but that Sam Houston State basically jumped the gun after getting a C-USA invitation. I normally don't but a ton of stock into what coaches themselves say, but given that this has been a longstanding discussion topic about FCS realignment, SFA joining the UT system matching the clip timeline, and recent news of FBS ambitions from ASUN football member Austin Peay - that all makes me think there may actually be an active effort towards this on the WAC/ASUN's end. Any thoughts or other news since then?

Where is the best place to live if you are a FBS college football fan?
Where would be the best place in the United States to live if you wanted to travel to games? I live near Dayton Ohio and for me within 3 hours I could visit 16 FBS schools that play in the Big 10, SEC, ACC, American, MAC and Sunbelt.
